The Lake Maxinkuckee Environmental Council and Lake Maxinkuckee Environmental Fund are comprised strictly of community volunteers.  These individuals are dedicated to ensuring the long-term health and well-being of both the lake and its surrounding watershed district.

The hard-working members of the Council conduct on-going testing to monitor the lake’s water quality, keep watch for signs of invasive plant species like Hydrilla, provide support to Purdue University and the DNR for their programs, maintain the three main inlets to the lake (Wilson Ditch, Curtiss Ditch Wetland, and the Kline Ditch Wetland), monitor planting programs, conduct community education programs, and continually seek to develop new ways to better ensure the success of our goals.
